Using native JDBC Drivers in Apptivity: why do you need ODBC
Using native JDBC Drivers - why do you need ODBC in the Developer?
The Apptivity IDE uses ODBC to query the database when building
queries. Once the application has been built, ODBC is only
required for runtime deployment if the JDBC-ODBC bridge (supplied
with Apptivity) is to be used.
The JDBC-ODBC bridge driver is the only JDBC driver Apptivity
supplies, all other drivers must be obtained from third parties.
A list of JDBC drivers may be found at
http://java.sun.com:81/products/jdbc/jdbc.drivers.html
This is not an exhaustive list of all JDBC drivers but rather a
good place to start.
This is documented in the User Guide - in Installation Section,
under Database Requirements.
