CAUSE:
Windows client making SQL-92 connection is OpenEdge 10.0X to a Progress 9.1D database. Progress supports OpenEdge 10.0X client to an OpenEdge 10.0X database.
FIX:

To resolve the connection problem use a Progress 9.1D client to connect to a Progress 9.1D database.
