SYMPTOM(s):
Virtual directory name incorrectly created after installing messenger
Installation contains only WebSpeed Messenger
Installation file creates static HTML directory as webspeed31D
Icons and links are not found while accessing WebTools
FACT(s) (Environment):
WebSpeed 3.1E
OpenEdge 10.x
CAUSE:
This is a known issue with the WebSpeed Messenger installation program. It creates the static HTML files and copies them to an incorrect location
FIX:
Please use the following steps to correct this problem; the steps will change depending on the platform the messenger is running:
Windows:
1. Open Microsoft Internet Services Manager
2. Locate the virtual directory created by messenger installation
3. Select modify the definition of the virtual directory
4. Change the virtual directory from webspeed31D to webspeed31E
5. Restart IIS webserver
Unix:
1. Go to the http document root of the webserver
2. Rename the directory from webspeed31D to webspeed31E
This problem does not occur when installing the WebSpeed Transaction Server or WebSpeed Workshop products.
