SYMPTOM(s):
Can not connect to database
** Could not connect to server for database <DATABASE>, errno <ERRNO>. (1432)
Error 1006 received connecting to database
Database started with -S parameter
Connection string from the client computer has -S parameter
CAUSE:
User switched to a new computer and the service name specified by -S parameterhas not been added to the services file
FIX:
Add service name and port number for the remote database to the services file. For UNIX, the services file is located at /etc/ directory, for windows, the services file is at c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc directory
