Report Builder Runtime Engine fails to generate a report
Problem only affects 1 PC
Error in status file:
RO-ERROR-CODE=R
RO-ERROR-MESSAGE=Unable to connect to database. Database error is: ** Could not connect to server for database <DATABASE>, errno 0. (1432)"
RO-PAGES=0
Affected PC has the same Progress configuration (.INI file, .PRL file, .PF file) as the other working PCs
4GL connections to the database succeed
Report Builder uses the same database connection parameters as 4GL
Using the IP address and port number in place of the hostname and service name has no effect
No RBSTART.PF file exists
STARTUP.PF file contains the default entries
Hard-coding the RB-DB-CONNECTION parameter in the Report Builder interface has no effect
CAUSE:
The affected PC had previously been used as a server and had firewall software installed. The firewall has been configured to block Report Builder and no longer prompted the user to Grant/Deny permissions.
FIX:
Configure the firewall to allow Report Builder connections
