FACT(s) (Environment):

SYMPTOM(s):
Launch character client and it hangs
_progres cannot connect to the database
No error messages
GUI client connects with no errors
Provision Plus license installed
CAUSE:
A Typical installation was selected when installing Progress. A Typical installation does not include Character Client.
FIX:
1. Verify that a Typical Installation was chosen: Go to Start>>Run>>type "regedit". Under HKey Local Machine, expand Software>>PSC>>Provision Plus>><version>
Click on your version of Progress and look on the right side. The "Installation Type" will say "Complete" or "Typical". If it says "Typical" proceed to step 2.
2. Uninstall Progress
3. Reinstall Progress, choosing "Complete" for the installation type when prompted.
