CAUSE:
Host or IP address is not valid.
FIX:
Check that the proper host name or ip address of the mail server is specified. It is possible that the fully qualified domain with the host name or an internal ip address rather than external ip address.
This can also be caused by load balancing techniques where OE Management is being routed to a mail server that is not working or configured properly.
On some systems the Fathom "Send From" mail address must be a valid known user, account to the mail server, or domain extension otherwise the mail message will not be sent.
The default "Send From" address is just "Fathom" and can cause problems with some mail servers. The Default_Mail_Action and all other ACTIONS that send mail messages will have to have the "Send From" address modified.
From the Fathom Management Console session select Library/Default_Mail_Action/edit and enter an acceptable "Send From" address.
Example:
From: Fathom
needs to be changed to:
From: Fathom@mydomain.com
