Kbase P105119: "Setuid execution not allowed" displayed when executing a Progress command
Autor   Progress Software Corporation - Progress
Acesso   Público
Publicação   7/1/2005
Status: Unverified

FACT(s) (Environment):

UNIX

SYMPTOM(s):

Error executing Progress commands

Setuid execution not allowed

The error is generated whenever a progres executable is run.

The executables have setuid bit correctly set as defined by Progress

CAUSE:

The file system hosting Progress installation is mounted with nosuid option. By default the filesystem is mounted with setuid execution allowed. Specifying nosuid overrides the default and causes the filesystem to be mounted with setuid execution disallowed.

FIX:

umount and remount the file system as default
