FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.1E
OpenEdge 10.0B
Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition
SYMPTOM(s):
Database <dbname> is enabled for Failover Clusters but it was not started due to error 0. (12470)
Unable to start a cluster-enabled database from Progress Explorer
Unable to start a cluster-enabled database from Cluster Manager
_mprosrv -cluster startup from proenv gives an error 12470
Database has been successfully registered on a cluster
PSC_CLUSTER_PATH environment variable is set correctly
CAUSE:
The dbname.pf files contains ~ (tilda) character which does not get passed correctly to the Progress binaries.
FIX:
Replace the ~ (tilda) with a full (non 8.3) path, as per following example
(non working)
-properties C:\PROGRA~1\dlc91e\properties\conmgr.properties
(working)
-properties "C:\Program Files\dlc91e\properties\conmgr.properties"
Save the file and start the database.
