SYMPTOM(s):
Can not start dataserver broker _probrkr
Can not start database broker _mprosrv
Error 5192 starting DataServer broker _probrkr
Error 5192 starting database broker _mprosrv
Unable to find server <name> with protocol TCP in file SERVICES or SERVICES file not found in expected location. (5192)
/etc/services contains both service names for _probrkr and _mprosrv
Service names for _probrkr and _mprosrv in /etc/services file are not at the end of the file
Using NIS
"ypcat services" command returns valid list of NIS service names
"ypcat services" output does not contain service names for _probrkr and _mprosrv
FACT(s) (Environment):
DataServers
Caldera Open UNIX/SCO UnixWare
CAUSE:
NIS has not published the service names for either _probrkr or _mprosrv even though they are in /etc/services file
FIX:
Publish the service names for _probrkr and _mprosrv in NIS network. For Detailed step by step instructions please consult network administrator or Unixware documentation.
