GOAL:
Clarification for -pica
GOAL:
What are the units of measurement for -pica ?
GOAL:
What is the default value for -pica parameter ?
FACT(s) (Environment):
Fathom High Availability Replication 1.0A
Fathom High Availability Replication 2.0A
Fathom High Availability Replication 3.0A
OpenEdge Replication 10.x
Progress 9.1D
Progress 9.1E
OpenEdge 10.X
FIX:
-pica is in K units where K = 1024 (not 1000).
for example: -pica 256 reserves 256K of memory which allows approximately 4000 IPC messages sent from a database (rocket) engine to Replication.
Maximum value for -pica is 1024 (9.1e04), 512 (10.0b05), 256 (10.1AXX), 8192 (latest 10.1A02XX hotfix and 10.1B01+).
By default -pica is 4K or about 90 messages
The memory is taken from the same shared memory pool that -B uses.
