FACT(s) (Environment):

Progress 9.1D
Translation Manager

SYMPTOM(s):

The Tranman compiler takes a smartDataBrowse label from the SDO in 9.1D, but from the SDB itself in 9.1D09.

There has been a change in behavior how the Tranman compiler Translates smartDataBrowse Column labels.

In 9.1D the label is taken from the SDO, in 9.1D09 the label is taken from the browse.

CAUSE:

There was an issue (20020605-002) in 9.1D where the column labels were not being picked up from the correct place. Browse column labels should be picked up first from the browse (if it is defined there), then from the SDO (if it is defined there), and lastly from the Database schema. In 9.1D FCS this particular issue meant that the browse heading was always being picked up from the SDO. The problem was then fixed in 9.1D01 to correct this behavior, subsequently translations added for SDO labels will not be picked when compiled in any service pack of 9.1D if a translation exists for the same field in the smartDataBrowse. The translation in the smartDataBrowse will be used instead.

FIX:

There is no fix for this issue. This is the correct intended behavior.
