Receiving Oracle error 1013 when using Progress Dataserver

This kbase is being generated to assist people that are experiencing
Oracle error 1013 when connected to Oracle from a Progress Dataserver.

Error 1013 indicates that a user requested cancel of the current
operation.

Some customers have experienced this error when running batch jobs.
These jobs are typically ran without user interaction. Therefore
how can a user request a cancellation of an operation if there is
no user interaction.

Oracle has several faxes regarding the 1013 error. This is an Oracle
error and is only being passed back to the dataserver from Oracle.
Recently, Oracle has said that they are aware of some known issues
that can cause this behavior. Recommendations to resolve the issue
are to obtain 7.3.3. of Oracle and the latest patches for that
release. Version 7.3.3.3 with patch 520734 appears to resolve the
issue.

Additional assistance regarding the 1013 should be obtained by
contacting Oracle Technical Support directly.
