CAUSE:
IBM changed the READ-AHEAD in recent ML releases.
FIX:
IBM's READ-AHEAD buffer affects the reading of large amounts of sequential data. Initially value is set to 0.
Contact IBM for instructions on adjusting the READ-AHEAD variable.
