Unable to create socket, errno=0. (788) on NT
This entry is still under draft and review and should be supplement if
more information are found for the problem,
because there may exist a lot a of other possibilities why the error
occurs . If TCP is not installed properly this error message appears
and the server cannot start .
Starting the Progress 8.1A server e.g. from the command prompt
of NT 4.0. with : proserve sports -N TCP -S prosv10
I could reproduce the error by changing the number assigned to tcp in
the protocol file located in %SystemRoot%\System32\drivers\etc .
The error occurred although ping , ftp and CRT worked fine .
To solve the problem check in the protocol file if tcp is assigned to
the number 6 . If this is ok
check if TCP/IP is installed properly . Reinstall if necessary .
