10.0B 64-bit Progress is no longer clearning pending connections
FACT(s) (Environment):
All Supported Operating Systems
Progress 9.1E 64-bit
OpenEdge 10.0B 64-bit
CAUSE:
Bug# 20050228-016
CAUSE:
Bug# OE00113967
CAUSE:
On 64 bit systems, time will return 8 bytes, not 4, and if the time is returned to an address, it can corrupt memory.
Certain functions which did pointer comparisons to time functions would not get the proper returned value (such as the PendConnTime algorithm) and would not appropriately complete their designed functionality.
FIX:
This issue was fixed in Service Pack 9.1E02 and 10.0B02 where a correction was made to appropriately handle 8 byte time function on 64-Bit versions of Progress.
