Same works fine with Suns's JRE 1.4.1_05-b01
CAUSE:
Incompatibility of GLIBC_2.0 of RedHat Linux 7.3 with Sun's JRE 1.3.1

FIX:
unset J2SE_PREEMPTCLOSEwith SUN JRE 1.3.1 on RedHat Linux 7.3
