SYMPTOM(s):
Database hangs on startup
Database will not start
No error message is displayed
No information is written to the database log file
There is a <dbname>.lk file present
The database lock file is present.
CAUSE:
The _mprosrv process was killed. Killing the _mprosrv process will not remove the DB lk file.
FIX:
If you are certain the database is not running, remove the <dbname>.lk file from the database working directory and restart the database. The database show go through crash recovery then resume normal operation.
