GOAL:
How to tell if ASA I or ASA II architecture is in use?
GOAL:
Am I using ASA I or ASA II architecture in my database?
FIX:
The database structure file (.st) indicates whether or not ASA II architecture is in use. Run prostrct list and check for blocks per cluster definitions in the resulting st file. If the value for blocks per cluster is 8, 64, or 512, then ASA II is use.
More indirectly, if the ASA II architecture is in use, then a dbanalys for that database will include entries for cluster list blocks and cluster allocation blocks under the BLOCK ANALYSIS section, and entries for FREE CLUSTER CHAIN ANALYSIS.
