FACT(s) (Environment):

SYMPTOM(s):
pop-up with error: "The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure that you want to run this software?....You should only run software from publishers you trust." when starting any Progress executable
CAUSE:
The internet security settings for the local intranet do not allow users to run programs that don't have a valid digital signature.
FIX:
In the Microsoft Internet Explorer, go to "Tools" ->" Internet Options..." -> "Security". Click on "Local Internet" and then the button "Sites". Then click on "Advanced" and you must now add the path to the directory containg the Progress executables. This will prevent the pop-ups from appearing.
