It it possible to output a Report Builder report to MS Word or Excel?
FIX:
No. There is no functionality within Report Builder to directly send data from Report Builder into either Microsoft Word or Excel.
However as a possible solution, if you are running 4GL code that triggers a report to run on the Report Builder engine then you may be able to do it indirectly.
You could generate the Report Builder report to a text file and then to use ActiveX automation to start MS Word or Excel and load the Report Builder output file. ActiveX automation could then be used to format the document.
There are many Knowledge Center solutions on how to use ActiveX Automation from the 4GL that could provide guidance on some of the basics like how to open files in MS Word or Excel.
