GOAL:
Does Progress have an option to terminate SQL servers in Promon?
GOAL:
Can an SQL server be terminated in Promon?
GOAL:
Does Promon have an option to terminate SQL servers?
FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.x
OpenEdge 10.x
All Supported Operating Systems
FIX:
In 10.1C the capability to terminate SQL servers was added to Promon.
After determining the SQL Server which should be terminated use the following steps:
1) Connect Promon to the database
Example:
promon <dbname>
2) Enter the R&D menus
3) Choose option 4 Administrative Functions...
4) Choose option 7 Terminate a Server
5) Type the server number (first column number) associated with the server to be terminated. The PID of the process is another useful piece of information which can help correlate the correct server number to be terminated.
Prior to 10.1C the Terminate Server option in Promon is for 4GL servers only.
