Status: Unverified
SYMPTOM(s):
OUTPUT TO PRINTER does not print French characters.
Using DISPLAY and PUT UNFORMATTED statements.
SESSION:CPPRINT is ISO8859-1.
Files with French characters print fine via MS Word, Notepad and Wordpad.
Session command line is similar to:
"D:\Program Files\PROGRESS\bin\prowin32.exe" -p someapplication.p -Wa -wpp
CAUSE:
Using the -Wa -wpp causes Progress to bypass the Windows printer device drivers needed to produce the French characters.
FIX:
Do not use the Windows Passthrough Printing (-Wa -wpp) parameters in the session startup command line.
