SYMPTOM(s):
Service pack installation fails to complete when AdminServer is running.
The service pack installation has to be terminated.
The AdminServer process must then be stopped.
The Service pack installation must be restarted, once the AdminServer process has been stopped.
CAUSE:
Bug# 20041007-014.
CAUSE:
During the Service Pack installation, running processes must be shut down so no files that need to be updated are in use.
The way this was handled was not very graceful as the installation would just abort.
FIX:
Starting with the 9.1E01 and 10.0B01 service packs, if the AdminServer is running the Service Pack install will prompt to shut it down as part of the installation procedure.
