Kbase P82153: Progress Explorer incorrectly displays the status of a second server group for a database.

Status: Unverified

FACT(s) (Environment):

Windows NT 32 Intel/Windows 2000

SYMPTOM(s):

Configuring a Second Login Broker for a particular database in Progress Explorer.

Created a second server group.

Performed a right-mouse-click on the defaultConfiguration option and hit the start button to start the database up.

Progress Explorer shows a status of "Initializing" for the first server group (defaultServerGroup) and a status of "Not Running" for the second server group (ServerGroup-1).

The statuses of the server groups never change.

CAUSE:

This is a known Microsoft issue.

FIX:

On Windows 2000, place a non-Progress Application Window on top of the Progress Explorer Window (Internet Explorer, for instance) and then move the focus right back to the Progress Explorer Tool. After doing that, the status for both of the server groups should have been updated to "Running", which is the correct status.
