Progress 9.x
Progress 8.x
SYMPTOM(s):
Cannot made a SQL-89 ODBC client read only when starting the OIB with the -RO parameter
-RO parameter ignored by the Open Interface Broker (OIB).
CAUSE:
Bug# 20020815-001
CAUSE:
The OIB does not recognize the -RO client parameter.
FIX:
There are no plans to address this issue in the SQL-89 product due to its mature status.
The recommendation would be to:
1. Configure the DSN being used by the SQL-89 client to have the -RO parameter specified in the Database Connection parameters under the Advanced tab.
2. Set read only privileges on the server side for clients by defining users in the database and setting the required privileges for each user.
