SYMPTOM(s):

Running setup.exe to install Progress and getting InstallShield error -6002

Setup has experienced an error. Error code -6002

This setup was downloaded from the Progress ESD site.

There were errors extracting the files from the .zip

CAUSE:

An old copy of pkzip.exe was used to extract the contents of the downloaded Progress installation files.
The pkzip was not correctly creating directories from the .zip and was overwriting files of the same name that would normally have been in separate directories.

FIX:

Use a recent copy of Winzip or WinRar to extract the contents of the downloaded installation files from the .zip file.
