GOAL:
How to use only one prompt for two queries in CorVu
GOAL:
How do I combine 2 or more related prompts so I only get 1 prompt?
FACT(s) (Environment):
CorVu
FIX:
The Shared Prompts function allows sharing of prompts for CorVu queries.
Prompt sharing is available in the CorVu Scheduler, Graphical Analysis, CorPortfolio, and Report Writer products.
Click on the [?] to show the complex query, and then right-click on the top node/box. Select the Share Prompts option.
You will see a window listing all the prompts - some will be your related prompts, others may be fixed values used in earlier object constraints.
Each prompt has two lines - the top one is the prompt-text line, below it is the value line. Decide which prompt-text line to use as the master, then one at a time drag the value line from the other related prompts and drop on the master prompt-text line. You should see the value line added below the prompt-text line. You can click on the prompt-test line to change the text of the master prompt.
If you make a mistake, drag the value line to the top and release - this should reset it.
