Effective June 1st, 2010 the option to download the OpenEdge knowledge base was migrated to the Progress Communities web site and restricted to OpenEdge application partners only.

While some of our customers who have taken advantage of this feature in the past have been direct users, the utilization of the downloadable KB has always been intended for those application partners who provide front-line support for OpenEdge to their end-users. This change is intended to support that use. Application partners may access the downloadable OpenEdge knowledge base via http://communities.progress.com/pcom/docs/DOC-104935.


Once the knowledge base is downloaded, the following steps are needed to install it.

1. Save the zip file to local machine
2. Extract all files within the zip file
3. Run the prokb.exe to run the install for the download
4. Follow the install wizard directions and after the installation is complete a Desktop Prokb shortcut will be available
