FIX:
The MAXUMEM variable should be increased within the kernel. However, despite being present on the ICL Teamserver 530i platform, it is an obsolete variable and has been superceded by hard and soft virtual memory settings that can be checked by using "ulimit -Sv" and "ulimit -Hv".
Within the kernel, these settings are controlled by the variables HVMMLIM and SVMMLIM. These can be altered by running "idtune".
