GOAL:

Is Apache Tomcat 5.x certified with the OpenEdge Web Services Adapter ?

GOAL:

Is Apache Tomcat 5.x certified with the OpenEdge AppServer Internet Adapter ?

GOAL:

Which version of Tomcat is recommended for the OpenEdge Web Services Adapter ?

FACT(s) (Environment):

OpenEdge 10.x
Web Services
All Supported Operating Systems
OpenEdge 10.x

FIX:

We currently test our WSA adapter against a JSE (Java Servlet Engine) that conforms to the Java Servlet 2.3 specification published by Sun. In the case of OpenEdge 10.0B, we tested it against Tomcat 4.1.30. So as long as Tomcat 5.x supports a JSE that conforms to the Java Servlet 2.3 specification, the WSA adapter can be configured and should run. At this moment in time, Progress Software has not verified all Tomcat versions for use with the WSA. The following Tomcat 5.x configurations have been tested with OpenEdge 10.0B Service Pack 1 or later on the Win32 platform and are known to work: Tomcat 5.0.8 + J2SE 1.4.2_06 or 1.5.0_1 - works fine.
Tomcat 5.0.16 + J2SE 1.4.2_06 or 1.5.0_1 - works fine.
Tomcat 5.5.7 + J2SE 1.5.0_01 - works fine.
Tomcat 5.5.9 + J2SE 1.5.0_04 - works fine. The following Tomcat 5.x configurations are known to fail: Tomcat 5.0.28 + J2SE 1.4.2_06 or 1.5.0_1 - fails.
Tomcat 5.5.7 + J2SE 1.4.2_06 (needs compat package) - fails.
