Status: Unverified
FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 8.3E
Citrix MetaFrame (for Windows 2000 Terminal Server)
SYMPTOM(s):
Using Wyse WinTerm thin client terminals
Each Wyse terminal has a printer attached to LPT1
Application sends a report to the local printer using DOS SILENT COPY <SomeFileName> LPT1 statement
Report is properly sent to local printer
A second copy of the report is sent to a random printer
CAUSE:
The exact cause is unknown at the time of this writing
FIX:
This is a non-Progress issue. Copying the report to the printer using the COPY command via the DOS SILENT statement is exactly the same as sitting at an Operating System command prompt (i.e. C:>) and manually executing the command so the extra copy of the report which goes to a random printer is not caused by Progress. Please contact either Wyse or Citrix technical support.
