GOAL:
Why does the _Lock Virtual System Table does not report NO-LOCK locks?
GOAL:
Why are NO-LOCK locks not in the _Lock VST?
FACT(s) (Environment):
All Supported Operating Systems
Progress 8.x
Progress 9.x
OpenEdge 10.x
FIX:
"NO-LOCK" means:
- Ignore the lock table.
- Do not put an entry in the _Lock Virtual System Table.
- Do not check for lock conflicts with other users or transactions.
Therefore, there no are entries in the lock table for "no-lock" retrievals. The notion of "no-lock locks" does not exist.
