SYMPTOM(s):

Custom 3rd party application using embedded ODBC connection fails after upgrading from 9.1C to 9.1E.

ODBC Driver name and version references embedded in 3rd party application.

FACT(s) (Environment):

Windows NT 32 Intel/Windows 2000
Progress 9.x
OpenEdge 10.x

CHANGE:

Upgraded from 9.1C to 9.1E.

CAUSE:

ODBC Driver name and version references embedded in 3rd party application are no longer correct. The embedded references contain the Progress version 9.1C as part of the reference.
The newer version of ODBC driver contains 9.1E in the name and the application is attempting to use older ODBC drivers and is failing.

FIX:

The ODBC driver version has changed in 9.1E.
The current version of DataDirect ODBC driver is 4.1.
Modify the connection string to use the correct version of ODBC Driver.
