FACT(s) (Environment):
WebSpeed 2.x
WebSpeed 3.x
OpenEdge 10.x
SYMPTOM(s):
WebSpeed broker dies with unexpected message from server error in the broker log file
The following error is seen in the broker log file:
Server Process <process ID> has terminated.
Unexpected msg from server :
ERROR: cannot start server. (8100)
Exception unbinding broker (not bound) : <brokername> (8525)
There are a total of five brokers but only one fails to start
The working brokers are connected to the development databases
The problem broker is connecting to the production databases
There are two customized super procedures added to the web-disp.p file
All the brokers are using the same super procedures
The super procedures are compiled against the development databases
CAUSE:
The two super procedures complied against the development databases have the .r files created. These .r files are causing the WebSpeed agents to die for the problem broker, which is connecting to the production databases.
FIX:
Remove the .r files which were generated against the development databases.
