GOAL:

How CorVu 5 handles its licenses?

GOAL:

What are the differences between CorVu 5 per-user licenses versus per-server licenses?

FACT(s) (Environment):

CorVu 5.0

FIX:

CorVu products are licensed on a per-user basis, or per-server. Per-user licenses are categorized as "Professional" for development (read and write), or "Personal" for runtime (read-only) usage.
There are two deployment models:

1. Client/Server is licensed with a CorServer license on the server and each client is licensed with either a "Personal" or "Professional" license on a Named User basis.

2. For Java or ActiveX deployment, licensing is server-based. In this model the server is licensed for both CorServer and the product desired. In this model, there are no individual client licenses, and user functionality is defined by the administrator.
CorVu 5 products are available for development and deployment on Microsoft Windows platforms. Additional ABA servers are available for deployment on HP-UX, AIX, Solaris and Linux.
