GOAL:

How should the SCO kernel parameters GENERAL_MEMORY and DEDICATED_MEMORY be set for Progress?

FIX:

The two parameters GENERAL_MEMORY and DEDICATED_MEMORY are SCO specific and are not used directly by Progress. All kernel parameters that should be configured for Progress are found in the Progress Installation and Configuration Guide for Unix, chapter 6.
The SCO group should be contacted on the proper use and configuration of the GENERAL_MEMORY and DEDICATED_MEMORY parameters.
As long as Progress is early in the start-up sequence it should be able to acquire the necessary memory for execution.
