Binary Load doesn't disable indexes. Why
The binary load utility loads only records, without updating the
respective indexes. This is consistent with the behavior of the
bulkload utility.
However there is a known issue with the 8.2A binary load where it
doesn't disable the related indexes, causing the records to be on the
database, but with no index entries pointing to them.
The only issue here is to be aware of that and to rebuild the affected
indexes after performing a binary load. Failure to rebuild the indexes
does not cause data corruption but might cause programs to yield
incorrect results due to the indexes not having the keys in it.
This issue is scheduled to be fixed with PROGRESS version 8.2B and
latter versions.
