SYMPTOM(s):
Performance problems using AppServer/400.
AS/400 Model 170 feature 2159.
The AS/400's Commercial Processor Workload (CPW) is 75.
Subjective performance perception of the SDO application connecting through AppServer/400 is inadequate to expectations.
Objective measurements indicate unacceptable results compared to client/server environment. The response times are 5 to 8 times slower when using AppServer/400.
CAUSE:
The AS/400 system does not comply to minimum requirements with regard to CPW factor. Batch CPW should be at least 100 for Progress/400 AppServer product.
FIX:
Upgrade the AS/400 hardware to meet the prerequisites listed in the Progress/400 DataServer V9 Release Notes.
