SYMPTOM(s):

Running WebSpeed application in local mode using AppBuilder causes error

The following error is displayed as a pop-up message:

An error occurred on the web server and will be displayed in your web browser

The following message is displayed in the browser:

http://localhost/scripts/cgiip.exe/WService=wsbroker1/webutil/_cpyfile.p?options=cgi&action=server_software&fileName=&htmlFile=

CAUSE:

The anonymous access user is turned off for the web site

FIX:

Allow anonymous access to the web server. Here are the steps to turn the anonymous access on:
1. Right mouse click on the "My computer" icon on the desktop and choose Manage.
2. Click the Services and Applications node to expand it.
3. Click the Internet Information Service Node
5. Click on the Web Sites node
6. Right mouse click on the Default Web Site and choose Properties
7. Choose the Directory Security tab and click the Edit button in the Anonymous access and authentication control section
8. Place a check on the Anonymous access check box and click OK to get out of the properties.
9. Restart the world wide web Publishing service in the Windows Services under the Services and Applications.
