7.3E does not add dlc/bin to $PROPATH automatically
This kbase is being written to document a change in the 7.3E
release which is not consistent with earlier or later releases.
This change is that dlc/bin is not automatically being added to the
$PROPATH environment variable by progress by default.
In earlier versions of Progress, id you did not set your environment
variable for $PROPATH, Progress would. It would be set to:
dlc/tty, dlc, and dlc/bin
For some reason 7.3E is not adding the dlc/bin to the $PROPATH
variable. Therefore customers that never set this variable, may
start receiving errors regarding not being able to locate executables
which are in the dlc/bin directory.
I have generated a bug regarding this issue. The bug is 97-07-24-016.
I have validated that in 8.2A we are consistent with earlier pre 7.3E
releases when it comes to setting this variable. The problem only
appears to be in 7.3E.
In the interim, anyone experiencing difficulties due to this
oversight, will need to manually set the $PROPATH environment
variable.
