Probkup Causing slowdown on NT 4.0 Server
Had a user who was complaining about dramatic slowdown of his NT 4.0 s
erver when he was doing Probkup in an online mode. His system was
basically brought to its knees with applications that would run in 75
seconds going to over 1600 seconds.
The problem was in one of the network settings for NT. Below are the
steps for correcting:
CTRL panel - Network - Services tab - Server - Properties -
Optimization
His was set to "Maximize throughput for file sharing",
He changed this to:
"Maximize throughput for network appilications"
the problem went away with normal, expected system performance.
