SYMPTOM(s):
-n parameter being exceeded on the database either causes the database to abnormally shutdown or hang
Database shuts down abnormally with error 5291
You have attempted to connect to a database with too many users connected to it. Retry the connection later, or increase -n on the server. (5291)
Database hangs when user limit is reached
Trying to connect more clients than the "-n" parameter
CAUSE:
Bug# 20020521-019
FIX:
Download and install patch 8.3E02 or later.
To workaround the issue increase the -n parameter at database startup to be high enough to accommodate all user connections
