GOAL:

Why are the bi files of the database much larger on a machine with a fast CPU than on a machine with a slow CPU.

GOAL:

Why are the bi files of the database that is updated by batch jobs running in single user mode much larger on a machine with a fast CPU than on a machine with a slow CPU.

GOAL:

Does the CPU speed affect the size of the bi file?

FIX:

The larger bi file size with a databases on machines with faster CPU's is because of the speed of the CPU and bi cluster aging. A cluster cannot be reused until it has aged properly, thus the bi file will continue to grow until the aging is satisfied. The cluster aging is used to guarantee bi write order. A fast CPU is able to do more work, but the aging is not affected by CPU speed.
