FACT(s) (Environment):

SYMPTOM(s):
Connecting to SQL-92 databse can generate Access Denied error if User Name is else than UserID
(JDBC Progress Driver):Access Denied(Authorization Failed)
Connect to database as user Sysprogress
User Sysprogress has been added from Data Administration -> Security
UserID = sysprogress, User Name = username (should not be sysprogress), Password = password
CAUSE:
If UserID is sysprogress the User Name has to be either blank or set to sysprogress.
FIX:
Delete user sysprogress and recreate it with User Name = sysprogress
