Cisco's TCP/IP implementation on VMS
Cisco's TCP/IP has never been "certified" as a TCP/IP
implementation on VMS; however, Development (Progress)
has heard that some sites are using this, so it is
believed that this should work.
Of note, Process Software has recently acquired Cisco.
Since this company is supported by Progress, speculation
is that they may have additional information beyond
this kbase.
There are no plans to do any qualifications of "other"
TCP/IP implementations.
Progress doesn't do anything sophisticated with TCP -
we use all "generic" socket calls with *no* code that
would do what is known on VMS as $QIO calls.
The following section is from the VMS V8.1A release notes
(Alpha and VAX) and is included here as a quick reference..
