GOAL:
Network Adapter auto-negotiation and performances consideration
FIX:
As long as the autonegotiation is set at the correct speed, there should be no impact on performance.
However:
auto-negotiation doesn't always work with every combination of networking products. So you should at least verify that it is working correctly before depending on it. When it does not work properly, the link does not always completely fail to work. It is possible for the link to partially work but with reduced throughput and high error rates.
Also, note that most times autonegotiation will only work with point-to-point connections. That more or less means computer to switches only, or between two NICs.
