7.3C VMS Install notes missing privs ; %set -w -notset error
The Installation Notes for the 7.3C VMS product do not list
all the user privileges necessary to access a PROGRESS
database in multiuser mode using the command
PROGRESS/MULTI=LOGIN. Page 5-3 of the Installation Notes
lists the required privileges as SYSLCK, SYSGBL, SYSNAM,
DETACH. If you attempt to run this command with only these
privileges set, you will receive the following error.
%set -w -notset error modifying dka200 -cli -e -iedevtype,
invalid device type, specify a mailbox device.
The Installation Notes also need to set the following user
privileges.
GROUP To wake up processes in the same groups that
are in a hibernation state with the VAX/VMS
System Service Call SYS$WAKE
WORLD To wake up processes that are outside the
server's group with the VAX/VMS System Service
Call SYS$WAKE
SYSPRV To create mailboxes with different UICs and
GROUPS than the server process.
*SETPRV So that gateway servers can save/alter/restore
process UICs. This privilege is only necessary
for GATEWAY images.
* needed only for gateway access to non-PROGRESS databases.
This is bug 96-05-22-033.
