Will DataServers fail-over work in a clustered environment?
GOAL:
Can the MSS DataServer run in a Microsoft Clustered Environment?
GOAL:
Can the ODBC DataServer run in a clustered environment?
GOAL:
Can the Oracle DataServer run in a clustered environment?
GOAL:
Can the Oracle DataServer run in a IBM AIX HACMP cluster environment?
FIX:
The DataServers can be installed but will not support fail-over. DataServers are not Cluster aware and they will not support fail-over, so if the node dies so does the local client. Broker can be started manually or through a cluster script but the remote client would have to issue a reconnect command to connect to the new Database broker started on the now active node.
