Errors 6087, 5890, 5884 when trying to start UIB
Specified ActiveX control is not registered or the .ocx file was moved from where it was registered. Error occurred in procedure: <procedure name> (6087)
Error occurred while accessing component property/method: <property or method name>.<COM message> Error code: <Program name> (5890)
Invalid component-handle referenced while processing method/statement: <method or statement name>.<COM message> <program name> (5884)
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows XP
Progress 8.3E
CHANGE:
Upgraded OS from NT to XP. Then installed Progress 8.3E new.
CAUSE:
OCXes failed to register during installation.
The exact cause for this has not been identified.
FIX:
Register the following Progress OCX controls via the regsvr32.exe utility:
- %DLC%\bin\regsvr32.exe %DLC%\bin\system\pstimer.ocx.
- %DLC%\bin\regsvr32.exe %DLC%\bin\system\cscomb32.ocx.
- %DLC%\bin\regsvr32.exe %DLC%\bin\system\csspin32.ocx.
